Pip – 4 year old male English Cocker Spaniel

Pip is a 4 year old male English Cocker Spaniel. Pip is a 4 year old male cocker who arrived into foster having not been socialised properly with people and dogs. Reacted aggressively on lead to both people and dogs. After having spent 3 weeks in foster with a pack of dogs he is now learning how to interact and socialise. Now spends all his time outdoors off lead and greets people and dogs nicely. Still suffers from mild fear aggression but this is improving all the time.

Pip needs an experienced owner who will be firm and patient with him as he continues his socialising. He can either be an only dog or be with a more dominant dog/dogs who will keep him in his place. He will guard his bed and growl but has never bitten. He will also guard his food bowl but only until he has finished then he is happy for you to take his bowl.

Pip is a lovely happy boy who loves to cuddle up on your lap at night, and his recall is excellent outdoors. He can still be reactive on the lead but this is just nervousness and he can be easily distracted with a treat. He did suffer from separation anxiety in a previous foster but has been fine being left with the pack, however this may be different if he is to be an only dog so ideally someone who can spend a lot of time with him and/or has other dogs for company. He is very nervous meeting new people but once he knows you will be your friend forever! Pip has not reacted at all to neighbours cats. Older children only due to his nervousness around people.

Pip is neutered vaccinated chipped wormed and flead and adoption is subject to meet and greet homecheck and adoption donation. Location is in Stockport. Please be aware you will need to travel twice to this location.Applications via forms section of website please.
