Precious Pip is a Poodle cross Yorkshire Terrier boy who is thought to be around 17 or 18 years of age, bless him! He is in a foster home in Southport, Merseyside, waiting for someone to offer him a caring permanent home. Pip is living with other dogs and is fine with them, but he is very food oriented and will push his way to the front if humans are having a biscuit, so he isn’t suitable to live with a dog that would react to this. He would be best fed separately from other dogs, especially as Pip is so delicate and thin. He currently only weighs 3.5kg.
Pip is unknown with cats but his foster carer thinks he would be fine with them as he doesn’t see too well. He is happy with parrots, hens, geese and ponies but has to be watched because he doesn’t always know they are there and could be pecked or trodden on by accident. Pip is such a fragile little chap that he isn’t suitable to be around young children. Older, very gentle visiting children should be fine though.
Pip’s ideal home is a quiet home where he will have plenty of company and nice enclosed garden to enjoy. Pip is vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and flea treated. He cannot be neutered due to his age, on the vet’s advice. He shows no interest in female dogs but we wouldn’t be able to rehome him to live with an unneutered female. He has had a dental and had to have all teeth except one removed, but he still really enjoys his food (soft).
Pip is virtually blind but his hearing is very good and he is otherwise fine, although very thin. His foster carer has been working on getting some weight on him, but he then had a stomach upset which set back progress and he is trying to slowly build it up again.
