Pippa is a 5 month old female German Shepherd Dog. Pippa came to us with a broken leg, this was an old injury that had not been treated. It caused several issues and sadly the only option remaining is to remove her leg. This will be done shortly and then we will be looking for a very experienced home for her. She has missed an awful lot of exposure to normal life as a pup, we don’t know why this is or what has happened to her but we do know she will need her new owners to have an understanding of dogs that need reassurance and direction in a positive way.
We will discuss fully with any suitable applicants Pippa’s needs. She will need new owners around for most of the day as currently she is not house trained, she is also very fearful of most normal household noises. Washing machine, coffee machine, television computer, printers, brooms ect. Her foster is working on this with her and in a short space of time she has already made great improvements. This will need on going work and a commitment from her new owner to ensure they carry on the training that has been started in her foster home.
Pippa is not a dog for a novice owner, she will need experienced owners who have the time and patience to dedicate to her. With commitment her new owners will be rewarded with a loyal and devoted dog who loves to please and is fiercely loyal. We would love to hear from owners who have experience of working breeds and understand the mental stimulation she will need along with the limitation her amputation will make of her physical abilities.
Pippa will need an adult only home, she is great with other dogs and loves to play, she is learning manners and social boundaries with her foster friends. This girl needs dedicated owners who will commit to her for the next 10-12 years, think long and hard before applying and only apply if you know you can stay the distance and save this pup. She is currently being fostered in Aldershot Hants.
Pippa is too young to be neutered so will be re homed on a neutering contract (reduced cost neutering will be available on request). She has been vaccinated and micro chipped and is up to date with flea and worming treatment. She will be having her front leg amputated prior to being re homed.
