Pippy Longstockings is a 7 year old female Lurcher. Pippy needs a new home because of her owners death. She is an absolutely amazing dog. She is clown, full of fun and always ready for a walk or a game, especially if it involves running. But come bedtime wrap her in a blanket (preferably in with you) and she is out for the count. Pippy is house trained. Not destructive. Very friendly to adults and older children, (we believe she has had no experience of babies and young children, so have no idea if she would enjoy their company).
Pippy is fine with other dogs, big or small. She also lived with 6 cats, so should accept others with appropriate introduction and supervision to begin with. She has traveled well, and loves going out in the car/ van. Pippy is a bit of a foodie and will steal any food left out. But has never been aggressive over her own, or contraband, food towards humans, but will send other dogs packing if they attempt to steal hers.
Pippy may pull on lead, depending who is on the other end, in her eagerness for the freedom to come in the woods or beach, but soon settles once you get moving. Her recall however is super, though typically for her breed she will use the whole of the area available to make her return, and runs like wind. I can’t stress what an amazing dog Pippy is and what a wonderful companion she will make for an active family, with a large secure garden and oodles of love and adventure to share.
Pippy is living at the Sanctuary with Fionna. You will need to be able to travel to Kidwelly, South Wales, to meet / adopt her.
