Pongo is an 8 year old male Collie Cross and Timmy is a 9 year old male Shih Tzu Cross. A pair of lovely dogs who have lost their owner and are waiting in kennels for a new home. We want to keep this little pair together if we can as they have been supporting each other whilst their owner was in hospital for many months. Pongo is a gentle red and white Collie cross type boy who stands at about 40 cm and weighs 22kg. He walks well on his lead and is housetrained, he got on well with his owners grandchildren.
Timmy is a tiny blonde Shitzu type with wiry hair. He is only as big as a cat standing at 26 cms and weighing 8kg. He is housetrained and used to like his owners grandchildren.
A relaxed and mature pair of boys who walk well on a lead, they come back when it suits them when let off. Nice affectionate happy smiley boys, they are kind, loving and well-trained dogs. The boys do not like cats at all.
Pongo was found by his owner out on the scrub land behind his house. He was very thin, starving and extremely frightened. His reaction to the sound of Renault Diesel engines led him to believe that someone who drove a Renault had dumped him out in the desert. Pongo very quickly became a healthy, happy and extremely affectionate dog. Little Timmy was found in a similar way a few years later and the boys have been great buddies ever since.
Their owner went into a hospice last spring and the dogs went to a local kennel where they are still. Their owner died on December 30 and now the family have to sort a new home for both dogs. Unfortunately the family have cats so can not have the boys.
We want to home them together as even when separated for half an hour, the one left in the pen frets, so hate to think what would happen if one was permanently left behind in a shelter alone. Current location is in a foster home in Solihull, West Midlands. They are vaccinated, wormed, flea treated, neutered, microchipped, Pet Passport, FREE 4 weeks Pet Insurance, any known health issues NONE KNOWN.
For Dogs coming from Spain: This adoption fee is a contribution towards the costs of rescuing the dog- microchip, passport, vaccines, tests for S European diseases, neutering, parasite treatment and transport to the UK.
We can not home dogs from Spain or Portugal to people who work, even part time. They need someone at home all day, they are not used to being alone, so even a couple of hours broken with a dog walker will be too much for them to cope with. They are highly likely to develop separation anxiety which is distressing for them and everyone in their new home.
Adoption Fee : – to be paid direct to the Spanish rescue to cover travel costs via UK bank account.
