Princess Tara Banana – 9 year old female Boxer

Princess Tara Banana is a lovely white Boxer girl who came into the care of the Oldies Club because her elderly owners were unable to continue to care for her due to illness. Tara will be 9 years old at the end of December 2009, and is a healthy girl who is in excellent condition. She is a fairly small boxer. She loves playing with balls and rubber toys, and will ‘talk’ to them as she plays in the house. She specially loves playing in water with her ball.

As long as Tara gets a couple of good walks a day, she is very happy to spend a lot of the rest of the time snoozing, with the occasional break for a cuddle or to play ball. Tara generally walks very nicely on the lead, though she can pull if she gets excited and sometimes needs a gentle reminder that pulling isn’t wanted. She is good off lead, although she does find her ball very very exciting, so if she’s carrying her ball she may need a couple of reminders before she can focus on anything else!

Tara gets on well with other dogs, and should fit in well in a house with other dogs, although her main focus is people, and she would also be quite happy as an only dog as long as she got plenty of attention and cuddles. Tara ignores cats, and is currently fostered in a house with cats. We think she would probably be fine with almost any other pet, as she doesn’t seem to have any desire to chase anything but balls.

We are told Tara is fine with children, and have no reason to think that she wouldn’t be, but haven’t yet been able to check this.

Tara had lived in the same home from a puppy, so she was understandably very stressed after losing her home and family. She was so worried to start with that she started making puddles on the floor in the house. She is now feeling much happier and more confident, and this has stopped. We are hopeful that she will not find moving to her new forever home quite so worrying, but it’s important that her new owners understand that they may need to mop up a few times before she settles in.

Tara is spayed, vaccinated, wormed and flea treated. She is currently in a foster home in Cornwall.
