Rasha is a (approx)10 year old female medium sized crossbreed. Rasha is currently in a foster home in Scotland. Rasha is a very sweet and gentle girl who loves a very slow and gentle pace of life. Rasha was rescued from Spain in 2012 where she had been living as a stray. We believe due to the terrible state she was found in that she had been living as a stray on the streets for a long time.
We are searching for a very understanding home for Rasha, she enjoys to be around humans and calm dogs and likes to take life at a slow pace. Rasha is enjoying her life at her foster home in Scotland and is living there with one other female dog and several cats. Rasha is a very easy dog and actually prefers where possible to do her toilet in the garden and then to rush into the warm house for a snooze rather than to go for long walks. She is not searching for a high energy lifestyle rather a slow placed warm and caring one. Rasha has a lot of love to give and is a very affectionate dog.
Rasha has an ongoing condition called Leishmania which is quite common with dogs in Spain and is transmitted from the bite of a sand-fly. Because this disease was left untreated when she was a stray it was able to destroy her nose and left her very weak. Since her rescue in 2012 Rasha underwent an intensive month long treatment which was able to bring the Leishmania under control. She will need medication for life and takes one tablet per day of Allopurinol. The cost to buy this medication is very cheap and works out to be £60 for a years supply.
The adoption fee for Rasha is £50 due to the nature of her ongoing condition. This includes her passport, chip, all vaccinations. Our policy at SSDUK is that all our dogs are spayed or castrated before adoption however in Rasha’s case because of her age and her illness she has not been spayed.
