Rhea – 9 year old male Corgi Cross

Rhea is a 9 year old Corgi cross older gent. He is a very adorable quiet dog who needs an owner who will have the time to spend with him, preferably someone older and/or retired who enjoys walking. Rhea has spent his entire life with an elderly couple. The gentleman of the house has devoted much time to him and, therefore Rhea is very well trained. He can walk well on or off lead, is used to traffic, is house trained, has great recall, gets on well with people, including children. He is used to other dogs when meeting them out on walks. He has never lived with dogs, and can be quite nervous of visiting dogs in the house (he hides under a table until they are gone!). Rhea is quite a character and has learnt a couple of party-tricks, such as barking on command and a Corgi royal wave.

Owing to failing health, Rhea’s owners feel they can no longer give him the time and exercise he so much deserves. The decision to ask for help in finding Rhea a new home has been extremely hard and parting with him will be difficult and emotional for his owners. Rhea is currently in Eire. We have offered to help find Rhea a caring and permanent home here in the UK as it can be especially difficult to rehome older dogs in Eire. Although we tend to specialise in rehoming rough collies and rough collie crosses, we have always been committed to helping any dog in need. We feel Rhea is a dog in need and, as a way of showing our appreciation to our friend in Eire for the fantastic work she does not only for the rough collies but all the dogs that come into her care, we want to find that forever home for Rhea in Warwickshire or the surrounding counties. Potential homes will be visited and adoptive owners will be required to enter into a formal adoption agreement.
