Ricky is a 9 year old male Jack Russell Terrier Cross. Sweet older, little boy with a tricolour, smooth, silky coat, deserves to find his forever home. Ricky is a petite boy standing at 25 cm (10 inches) and weighing only 8 kg (17.5 lbs) at 9 he has plenty of “little dog” years ahead. He has a medium level of energy and doesn’t need much exercise, but he loves going outside for short, calm walks. He was fearful when he was brought to the pound but he’s improved a lot. He is sociable with dogs and was fostered for months – he adapted well to living in a home, something completely new for him.
Unfortunately, poor Ricky is back in the pound as the foster home was moving house. To sum this little chappie up – he is affectionate, loyal and calm, but still active. He behaves well on walks, doesn’t pull on the leash, and is sociable with other dogs. He lived with 11 other dogs in very bad conditions, always outside and not taken care of. Their owner was an old man and when he died, they were all taken to the pound. He is still a bit fearful of new things and people sometimes, and we are looking for a retired couple that can be with him and love him in the day. He’s a bit grumpy sometimes and can show his teeth if he thinks he has to defend himself, but once he knows you he is unafraid.
Fosterer’s report: Ricky lived with another dog and they got along very well. He loves company and cries a bit when he’s left alone, but he doesn’t destroy things. His passion is the sofa: he lives for his naps on the sofa. He needs his time to trust someone, he’s hard a hard life and many changes in the past years, but once he trusts you he’s sweet and loves it when you pet him slowly. You just need to leave him on the sofa and he’ll come looking for affection.
