Ricky and Diego are 6 month old male Cross-Breeds Pointer / Hound cross types. Ricky and Diego were born to a stray mum in the grounds of the Dali Archaeological Museum, Nicosia, Cyprus. Somehow their mum Muse, kept them safe until they were brought to our attention and we were able to rescue them all. As soon as they were old enough to fly we brought them to a foster home in the Fareham, Portsmouth area to help improve their chances of finding their forever home. Here is a little about them by their foster mum. So please meet the gorgeous brothers Ricky and Diego. They simply are an amazing bundle of puppiness! They are very dependent on each other, so we hope to re-home them together.
We think they will be medium to large dogs, though we are unsure of their exact breed. Ricky (mostly white) is the more wary/tentative one. He is still very nervous of anything new, and will look to his brother Diego for reassurance. Ricky is more vocal, and will still bark if anything startles him. Diego (with the gorgeous eyes), is very quiet, but very loving. He loves playing with his brother, and our other dogs. He can be wary of anything new, but has more confidence than his brother Ricky.
Both boys arrived into foster, very scared, but took little time in trusting us. They love other dogs, but will take a little time to get used to them. They have shown little interest in our cats, other than wanting to play. They’ve never chased them, but will follow them around the house if given the chance. I’m confident that they would be good with children, though we don’t have any young ones around to test. They are still young enough to learn, but think that as they are still very nervous, that older children would be better.
As with all puppies, they are still working on the house training, but are usually good at using the puppy pads. They have started asking to go outside, but this will still need working on. They were very frightened of a lead, and had to be carried out of the house at first. They are now confident having the lead on, and walking together, however new people/dogs will still scare them, so again with time and continued training they should be fine. They are crate trained, so are okay to be left for a couple hours at a time. They will happily sleep in the crate or currently they like a large dog bed on the floor of our bedroom. These boys are amazing puppies, and will grow into loyal, and loving dogs. They will bring you so much love, laughter and joy. They deserve the best home possible.
If you can offer them a loving home, with a safe garden to play in, and are able to spend time helping them continue to learn what is expected of them just as you would with any new puppy joining your family, please contact us. They really have the potential to be amazing family pets.
They have been vaccinated and microchipped. Their adoption will be subject to a neutering agreement. Minimum adoption donation applies of £325 each or £600 for both boys as we really want them to stay together. ADOPTIONS SUBJECT TO HOME CHECK. Post adoption support is available from our charity.
