My name is Riley and I’m a Belgian Shepherd Cross. It’s been suggested that I may have some Groendael in my breeding. My documents say 7 but my teeth suggest around 5. I found myself in a killing station in Spain through no fault of my own. I had days left to live. Then a group of people called a rescue group stepped in to help me. They got me released and I started my journey to a new life. Here I am in the way to my fosters.
I’m now with my Aunty Kate and Uncle Eric. They say I need to gain weight as we were starved where I was and I didn’t want to fight for food. Aunty Kate thinks I’ve been abandoned by British owners as I can sit and stay to English commands. Aunty Kate is not used to having a big guy like me but here’s what she said “Magnificent . Gentle. Well mannered. Loving. Beautiful. Will make someone a very loyal friend. Not a bad bone in him…”
I’m looking a little bit raggedy just now but I’m catching up on sleep and food and it’s so peaceful I can sleep safely in my house. Very soon I will go to see Juan my vet for full blood tests, castration, vaccines and health check. I had quick blood tests on exiting the facility which were all clear. I’m looking for a home with a secure garden for noodling around in. I’m fine with other dogs.
My rescue is happy with older children that understand rescue dogs. I’m quite a big lad so my new family need to be able to handle me safely. Uncle Eric got me a new collar when I arrived. I’m starting to feel normal again. I’m told I’m very lucky to now have rescue people looking out for me and Iv heard that many dogs went before me to new homes. I’m praying I get an offer soon so I can start my new life.
If you have a Riley sized space in your heart and home please contact my rescue. Please don’t make me wait I’m a good boy. I’ll be your trusted and loyal best friend.
