Ripley – 1 year old male Staffordshire Bull Terrier

feature photo

Ripley is a 1 year old male Staffordshire Bull Terrier looking for a loving new home who is currently being fostered in Stoke on Trent. He originally came into RSPCA care a few weeks ago as his owners were forced to rehome one of the dogs due to only being allowed 2 dogs in the property, they had 3. He is from RSPCA Wirral and Chester Branch who came to us for help as Ripley was suffering badly with kennel stress which caused him to bite his own tail to the point it had to be docked due to injuries. Ripley has been wormed, flead, microchipped, neutered and vaccinated. Ripley has led a sheltered life until now due to both his male owners having mental health issues – one being agoraphobic, so Ripley hadn’t had a great deal of normal socialisation until he came to the RSPCA, in fact we’ve introduced him to the big wide world! He is fully house-trained, travels well, good on the lead
and is not toy or food possessive. He’s medium in size.

He is a friendly, sweet, playful softie, but will need the time to bond with his new owner at his own pace. Since being in foster care he has really gained confidence and is much happier. He is a little wary sometimes of new people, it’s shyness more than anything. We are looking for an experienced Staffordshire Bull Terrier lovers home where someone is around a lot of the time, not full time workers. He has lived with 2 other dogs and is okay with dogs but doesn’t like to be charged at – like most dogs.

We would rehome Ripley to a family home with an older child. Perhaps he’d like a doggie friend? Ripley deserves to know what a normal doggie life is, he will make a wonderful and loyal best friend.
