Formally introducing little Rocky Rocket, a 10 month old Cross-Breed. We were recently asked if we could help with this little lad after his owner was hit by a car, spent a week in hospital with Rocky, and another dog, left on their own for a week. Upon leaving hospital he decided he did not want Rocky only the other dog. Rocky is meant to be Border Terrier cross Spaniel and we don’t think he will grow much more than he is. Poor Rocky has not had a great life till now. No socialisation, no walks and he landed without even a lead or collar. He is bright as a button though and after some basic training and socialisation would make a cracking agility or flyball dog. He is so keen to learn. He does need a home willing to invest in him though and to take him to classes as he has missed out on so much.
On arrival Rocky had no idea about housetraining but has already worked it out. He is currently in foster with 3 other dogs who he is so eager to play with and they are keeping him in his place if he gets over zealous in play, the foster home also has cats and he has not chased them just Terrier barked. He has met his foster carers grandchildren too and been very gentle with them. He would love a home with another energetic, young, playful dog and as he is young and has missed out someone around most of the time to continue helping him along the way although his foster home has left him for up to 4 hours with the company of the other dogs and he settled just fine. Rocky is also a really good boy off lead, loves to play and socialise with other dogs he meets and listens when called. Out on lead he is walked on a harness he can be a little barky when he sees other dogs but he has missed out on so much and the more he gets to socialise and play the better he is getting.
Rocky is in foster in Stoke on Trentand is vaccinated, kc vaccinated, de flead, de wormed, microchipped and castrated.
