Ronnie – 21 month German Short-Haired Pointer cross English Springer Spaniel
Ronnie is a lovely friendly German Short-Haired Pointer cross English Springer Spaniel aged just 21 months old. He is a friendly happy chap, being rehomed through no fault of his own. A new baby meant Ronnie was being increasingly excluded from the house, and not getting the family interaction he’d been previously used to.
He is vaccinated and micro-chipped. He is house trained and crate trained. He knows basic commands, although would benefit from some extra work in that respect. He walks reasonably well on a normal lead – fine on a headcollar. Ronnie travels well in the car. We do not know how Ronnie would be with cats.
He is very friendly with people – although can be slightly reserved initially. He gets on fine with other dogs – again with initial slight caution. (We believe his slight wariness being caused by lack of socialisation in his previous home, although his confidence is growing in leaps and bounds).
Ronnie’s temperament is more like a Springer than a German Short-Haired Pointer – when on a walk he stays relatively close, and keeps checking back to see what you wnat him to do next! Ronnie loves playing games with any human volunteer, and would suit a family with slightly older children (maybe 8 and older) due to his natural exuberence. Ronnie could well suit agility, as he is naturally athletic, allied with him waiting for the next command.
Ronnie is currently being fostered near Stevenage, Herts.
