Rosie – 11 month old female Border Collie

Rosie is a female small Border Collie and is 11 months old. She came into kennels as the owners felt they did not have time to care for her properly and were finding it difficult to cope with their other dogs and children. Rosie has done nothing wrong. Rosie is a real sweetie and very gentle loving dog, she loves nothing more than a cuddle and this helps her to feel safe. She is finding kennels quite tough. She has lived with children and other dogs and is good with them.

 

However, she could do with further socializing and training. As she is still a pup we would suggest puppy training classes to help her with this. We feel she would be highly trainable as she is very intelligent and really just wants to please you. She is very good on the lead and does come back to you when called. We would suggest a home that is knowledgeable with the Border Collie breed. As we are still assessing her, we do not yet know whether she is okay with cats. RSPCA Essex South West

The RSPCA Essex South West Branch is, like all RSPCA branches, an independent charitable trust. As such, it has to be financially self-supporting – in other words it has to raise the funds it needs to support its animal welfare activities. The Branch covers an area ranging from Dagenham & Barking in the South to Epping & Nazeing in the North, Waltham Abbey to the West and Abridge to the East. Although we do rehome our dogs to all other areas. The Branch is run and staffed entirely by volunteers. The main activity of the Branch is in rescuing and finding new homes for companion animals that for a variety of reasons are either homeless or cannot stay with their present owner. We work in partnership with Hillside Kennels telephone 01992 892881, who board our rescue dogs and carry out the rehoming process on our behalf. All dogs who are rehomed from us will have their initial course of vaccinations, worm and flea treatments and will be neutered. In the last eight years (to December 2011) the RSPCA ESSEX SOUTH WEST Branch has rehomed approximately 2100 cats and 1560 dogs.
