Rosie

Meet Rosie, a 1 year 8 month old Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross female. In December 2006 Rosie was seized by inspectors, her condition almost beggaring belief! The legal process that followed ended with Rosie being signed over to the society. Vaccinated, spayed and micro-chipped, Rosie is small to medium in size - looks bigger in photographs.

After so long “behind bars” through no fault of her own, we have put Rosie with a branch volunteer fosterer. This dog has really had no life at all so far. With her fosterer she has discovered some many new things including meeting people, walking in the countryside and seeing farm animals, birds and other wildlife. She does not like small furries including cats and has varying views on different breeds of dogs.

This really means that Rosie must be the only pet in her new home. She used to need re-assuring but is so much more confident now, she still likes her cuddles though! She is intelligent, clean in the house and already learning new commands - she is obedient, Rosie needs periodic treatment for an allergy to a couple of species of weeds.

She loves any toy thrown for her, relishes lots of play and running around in the garden playing fetch, she loves any treat going and spends time gnawing on her rawhide or roasted beef bones.

Rosie is a very affectionate companion dog, she loves human company and sofas! She needs an experienced rescue dog home where someone is at home a lot of the time, a quiet but active home, perhaps an active retired couple, or someone who works from home, she can be too bouncy to be around toddlers. Are you that special someone to offer Rosie a chance, she’s been with us for a few months now, this is not what we want for Rosie, she really does need a forever home!
