Let us introduce you to Rossi, a stunning 5 year old male German Shepherd who finds himself in our care due to his owner’s ill health. He is a very big boy weighing in at 45kg and his strength matches this, but Rossi comes across as a big teddy bear loving kisses and cuddles.
His owner stated he had been in contact with other dogs previously and during his initial assessment we have seen a positive reaction to our dogs. He loved playing with a young German Shepherd pup on his first social meeting and on further walks whilst in kennels he’s shown no signs of aggression or issues relating to other dogs. This will be monitored whilst he is with us.
Although not cat tested as he is in a kennel environment now, he’s shown very little interest in the resident ducks and cats. But this is something we are unable to comment on further.
Although Rossi needs to have his lead work improved he is a quick learner like most German Shepherds. The initial pulling and over excitement is something that soon slows and he becomes more responsive leading to an enjoyable walk. Walking is something Rossi hasn’t been able to do much of in the recent years so short walks, increasing over a period of time, as always for any dog who hasn’t proper exercise for a long time.
Rossi does have many basic commands, sit, stay, down and roll over are his favourites, and he will sure do anything for a treat.
He is fully vaccinated and chipped, and the vets stated he was in great condition and a lovely boy. He isn’t yet castrated but this is in the process of being arranged.
This is one of the most lovable German Shepherds I have had the pleasure to come across whilst working in rescue. He is so eager to please and with the correct owners he will come on in leaps and bounds. A quick leaner that as so much more to give. Ideally his new owner will have experience with large breed dogs due to his strength and size.
Rossi will make a fantastic addition to any family, so if you think you can give him the love, time and home he deserves please get in touch (see the About Us tab at the end of the page for details).
