Roxy is nearly 6-7 month old Podenco cross German Shepherd mix girly being fostered in Somerset with dogs, cats and children she is more like her mum and will be maybe medium size. This lovely girl I first met in Spain she was one of 7 born in rescue her mum was a chocolate Podenco her dad we think German Shepherd looking at her siblings. She was lucky enough with her brother to get a foster space in Spain out of kennels, what striked me about this lovely girl was a gentle character, she was a nervous little lass as she had not been long out of kennels but it did not take long for her come round this was a little video I made of her when I was there.
I spoke to one of our lovely foster homes about her and they agreed to foster her and that is where she has been for the last 5 weeks – and she has done so well bless her, she had a strong bond with Holly the child living at the house almost from day one even though she had not been used to children she loved them, within weeks we had a totally different dog from the dog that arrived, being only a baby she has soaked up family life like a sponge and is so much more confident now, she gets on well with the other dogs and is respectful, the cats she has grown used to they have to tell her off sometimes for wanting to play with them. She has been on school runs, travels in the car, walks well on the lead and is good off the lead most of the time unless there are interesting rabbits or pheasants in the hedgerow. Her foster home has worked hard with her and someone is going to get a great little dog. She is a bit of a strange girl too and makes funny noises.
She is a very affectionate girl and not much trouble, she would benefit from further training at dog classes as its something we feel all young should do. She is very loved by her foster home but she is ready now to leave them and find her forever home, she would benefit from another dog if possible and would prefer a country home for her, no full time workers.
Roxy is fully vaccinated, chipped and has her own Pet Passport – she is not spayed yet as too young so you will be expected to do this as part of the adoption agreement.
