Roy

Meet Roy, he is a 6 year old castrated male Border Collie that has been with us since June 2006. Roy is nervous of strangers but gains confidence quickly becoming very friendly and affectionate. He is very loyal towards his owners to the point of being slightly protective of them with regards to other dogs, so needs to be the only dog in the house.

He often appears aloof until transformed by the appearance of someone special on the horizon. Anyone with experience of the breed will appreciate that a Collies devotion has to be earnt – but it is always worth the wait! Roy is an obedient dog that needs to be kept fully occupied and would probably be great at agility once he has built up his confidence as he appears almost scared of the equipment at the moment.

Playful Roy loves his toys and loves to play hide and seek and will need plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. He is fantastic on and off lead and has brilliant recall and is always more than ready for a romp across open fields. He knows all his basic commands and performs them willingly. He previously lived on a farm so ideally this is the kind of lifestyle he is seeking.

He loves all kinds of water, whether it comes from hosepipes, paddling pools and so desires long walks by lakes, rivers and seas! He is good with some other canines but needs to be the only dog in the house, hasn’t mixed with cats and would be fine where any children are aged 16+. Can you give our water loving Collie a new loving home where he can have fun?
