Rufo is a stunning cross-breed with one blue eye, he is about three years old. Rufo recently found himself homeless as sadly his owner passed away and his wife could no longer keep him as she was moving to a flat. As a result of this he was currently kept chained outside all day until he came into our care.
Rufo has now been in a foster home for a few months and has settled into the routine of family life really well. This is what his foster family say about Rufo; “He is such a loving, affectionate dog, he loves attention of any kind. He gets on really well with our resident dogs and will play with our younger dog, whilst respecting our older more frail dog. There have been no fights over food or toys. He has never been destructive in the house and can happily be left for a few hours without any apparent separation anxiety. He is very responsive to training and learns very quickly when there’s a treat to be earned! He is generally a really happy, chirpy dog who is full of character and great company.
He finds being out and about more challenging. We don’t think he has been walked much before and he is a bit anxious when he walks past other dogs. He doesn’t bark or growl at them, but will snap at them if they come too close. Rufo needs some one to one attention to overcome his fears out and about and time to let him get used to the outside world. He would be best suited in a more rural home where he has less things to cope.
Rufo would suit almost any family – he loves people and although I haven’t seen him with small children, I’m sure he would be fine as long as they were dog savvy. He could also happily live with other dogs – large or small. A secure garden with lots of nooks and crannies to explore is his idea of heaven! He is a lovely, quiet affectionate boy who would make someone very happy! He loves nothing more then having lots of cuddles. Rufo is fostered in Bristol.
