Rufus is a 3 year old male Miniature Pinscher Cross. Rufus was rescued in Cyprus and flew to the UK to what we hoped would be his forever home. However his adoption failed and he is now living with his foster mum in Stockport. Here is a little about him:
Rufus can be a little nervous and stressed if he doesn’t know you but once he does he’s a loving, quiet boy. He walks well on a lead and enjoys his walks. Rufus loves his food and will guard it by growling if other dogs in the house go near it. However, he will happily takes treats next to them and shares scattered treats with no aggression. Despite loving his food he eats slowly.
Rufus lives with two other dogs in his foster home. He gets on fine with them except for the guarding of his food. He is also great with any dogs he meets on walks. Rufus will chase and bark at any cats he sees, therefore we do not think he could share his home with a cat. Rufus was returned to our charity due to becoming stressed in a home with children. When he is stressed he can snap so he needs a home with no children.
Rufus knows to go outside to toilet but likes you to go with him first thing in the morning. He goes in a crate but he’s never shut in it. Rufus sleeps in his own bed in the bedroom at night after he jumps onto his foster mum’s bed to check there is no food he is happy to then goes to sleep in his own bed! Rufus is fine when left with the two dogs in his foster home two dogs.
Rufus is a loving dog who needs a quiet home where he won’t get stressed ( he can snap when stressed). His new home would need to help him with ongoing support and training, to help him reduce the stress in his life. He is a happy little dog who loves to just watch the world go by and comes to you for attention and love when he wants it. The rest of the time he’s happy quietly sitting in his bed, or the garden.
Rufus knows how to sit and has come on a lot since joining his foster family. He sits for his food now instead of jumping. He would benefit from ongoing training. Rufus is now hoping to find his forever home with an adult or adults who would be happy to spend time with him, helping him. If you think he might be the boy for you, please contact us. Rufus has be neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Minimum adoption donation £300. ADOPTION IS SUBJECT TO HOME CHECK. Post adoption support is available from our charity.
