This is the lovely Rupert he is a young German Shepherd cross breed who is still entire and he is approximately 1 year old. Rupert has recently come into our rescue from a UK pound and was saved from being put to sleep as his 7 days were up and he was left unclaimed by his previous owners. Rupert can be quite aloof on first meeting and can be nervous around loud noises however on meeting him for the first time you will find that he can be timid and sometimes a little vocal until he gets to know you.
Once Rupert has gotten to know you you will find that he will be your best friend and is eager to show his affection with lots of kisses. Rupert needs some work on his doggy manners and this issue is currently being addressed – it is more a case of immaturity than anything else. However he will need to be introduced to other dogs slowly and carefully as they may not appreciate his eagerness to make new friends?
Rupert will require further lead and recall training as he get very excited at going out with his foster mum and does tend to pull. Rupert likes his creature comforts and will need a calm loving home with a comfy dog bed and/or sofa. Rupert has such a sad looking face and we feel this is probably because he hasn’t found his forever home yet?
Rupert would be best suited to home with older (teenage) children only. He gets along best with female dogs as male dogs scare him – he is not cat tested as yet. At the moment Rupert is undergoing further assessment and more information will follow in due course.
