Saffie is in foster in Stroud, Gloucestershire. She is 21 months old and is ready for a home of her own. She is a mixed breed small-medium sized dog. Saffie is a very affectionate girl, and loves a fuss. She gets on well with Rio the resident male dog, and has now met the cats and seems to be ok with them.
Pretty little Saffie (short for Sapphire) is a sweet delicate girl – she is a perfect sized dog weighing approximately 10kg, she is a little on the skinny side at the moment and would benefit from putting on a couple of kilos. She measures 43cm (17″) to the shoulder. That is about the same height as a Whippet, but she is thicker set.
Saffie is a very pretty coat with a creamy coloured coat, and an expressive face, and darker coloured tail.
Saffie is a little timid of new situations, but Auntie Lynne has been great at exposing her to them. She has met a toddler, and older child and was fine with them, but because of her slightly nervous disposition, we think she would be better homed with older children, or in an adult only household.
Saffie really doesn’t like to be left alone when it’s bedtime, so we think she would be best homed with another dog in the home.
Saffie is now lead trained and has done so well after initially being very fearful. She loves her walks! She is already house-trained.
She is happy to play with Rio, but on her terms. If she isn’t in a playful mood she will let him know nicely, but not agressively. In the shelter, she preferred male dogs, so if homed with another dog it needs to be male. However, she would be perfectly happy as an only dog.
Saffie was rescued from the kill shelter PS Milhaesti in December 2017. Poor girl was very ill and weak and was nursed for a few weeks at a veterinary clinic.
Homecheck and adoption fees apply.
Saffie is neutered, vaccinated, chipped, parasite treated and has a passport.
