Scooby – 2 year old male Whippet cross Staffordshire Bull Terrier

This dog is a tiny teeny sap and a real little wimpy lad. Although he has a little Staffordshire Bull Terrier in his breeding he is very whippet like in behaviour and only stands around 20 inches to the shoulder. Scooby was originally fostered by Gap at just 6 months of age. Sadly 2 years later he has had to be returned to our care due to a change in family circumstances. Scooby has the most excellent temperament and is fabulous with other dogs and children but will chase cats if given the chance. There’s not a lot we can say about this boy apart from he is in the main an excellent all round little dog. Good on the lead, good off the lead, fabulous with dogs and adores his people. A real baby who wants to cuddle. Typically whippety naughty at times and if allowed would spend more time on the worktops noseying around than off the work tops behaving himself. He does not, though, have a bad bone in his body. He is housetrained and fine to be left for short periods of time but would be best suited to a busy family home with other dogs in residence, lots of excercise and lots going on and people in the main around most of the time. Scooby can be very vocal at times but not in a loud barking type way, he talks to you in typical whippety fashion and combines that with the squeaky Staffordshire Bull Terrier type noises as well. He will love you to within an inch of your life if you allowed him and the main thing will be to make sure he does not get too spoilt or you could cause issues with separation. Scooby’s only other fault which he did as a puppy and still does, is to jump straight up into the arms of people he knows well lol so this may need watching.

I really hope this most special of all little men is out of the kennels and quickly. He really needs a foster home or permanant home as soon as possible as he is not a dog cut out to be in kennels and was breaking his heart when he was left after his walk on Saturday.

For more information or to offer Scooby a home please complete the pre adoption questionnaire below. Scooby is vaccinated, treated for parasites, microchipped and neutered.

Greyhound Gap
Greyhound Gap is a small independent charity set up to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome greyhounds and lurchers who find themselves in a ‘put to sleep’ situation in UK pounds. Funded almost entirely by donations, we rehome around 150 dogs each year. We can have around 40-50 dogs at any one time in our kennels based in Kidsgrove, Stoke on Trent and a further 30-40 in foster homes. Greyhound Gap operates on a national basis so our dogs can be homed throughout the UK subject to a suitable home visit being carried out. If you are interested in adopting a dog from Greyhound Gap, we would ask that in the first instance you could take a few moments to complete our pre-adoption questionnaire if you have not already done so:
