Scoots - 1 year old Whippet cross Collie cross Staffordshire Bull Terrier

Meet Scoots, a chance visit to the pound recently for Lisa and it was love at first snog. Scoots is around 12 months old and is a Whippet cross Collie cross Staffordshire Bull Terrier, by oh my does this dog have a nature to die for. He is cheeky, lively and playful and really doesnt have a nasty bone in his body. Scoots is currently in foster care alongside three other young Lurchers and is as good as gold.

He settles well in his crate overnight as he can still be a little chewey and also is given time out in their for an hour a day whilst he is learning to be calm as he can be a little full on. Out on walks Scoots is a dream, he gets on well with all other dogs he meets and adores children and people, this is a boy who just wants to please and loves to be loved. Scoots is also excellent off leash.

In the house Scoots can be quite boisterous which is why his current foster family are working with time out and also settle and lie down commands in the house. Scoots picks them up almost instantaneously he is just so bright.

Wherever Scoots came from this is a little man who has had time and training put into him, he knows and understands all his basic commands and would excel at obedience if somewhere wanted to take him into that sort of territory, he would definitely benefit though from more basic training classes to help him concentrate on his new owner.

Scoots would also make a fast, fabulous little agility dog and would love a busy home with other young Lurchers or Collie types who know how to play and have fun! With a bit of guidance and more training this dog is going to be a dog of a lifetime, he is so clever, loving and just plain sweet. Scoots is fully house-trained and good to be left with other dogs for a couple of hours already.

Scoots will need a home with someone around all or most of the time to begin with, although he is fabulous with children and has been gentle with his foster carers young grandchildren he may be better in a family home with children 8 + due to his bouncy nature and the risk of knocking little ones over. This dogs is a dream in the making and how he ended up in the pound is just totally beyond me!
