She needs to learn some boundaries but she is so loving and friendly she is an all round a happy dog. She has a smile she uses when she is pleased to see you which looks like a snarl but is pure pleasure and so comical. She’s an angel to walk as she will trot happily by your side without a lead, coming straight back when called. She currently lives with 3 other dogs and several cats and gets on well with all of them. Shadow was picked-up by the local police from outside a supermarket in Central Portugal and was taken into emergency Foster as there was no shelter place available.

Fosterer’s report: Shadow arrived as an emergency foster. She took some time to settle in, and there were some issues with my other dogs, but after a short settling in period, she has found her place. She is learning boundaries, but this is a long-term job. Shadow needs a family that can stimulate her keen intelligence and keep her learning and engaged. Shadow needs to be fed separately from other dogs, as she will dominate the food supply if she can!

Shadow is a pleasure to have around, though she can be strong willed and stubborn. She is responsive and food motivated so will quickly benefit from a strong, reward based training regime. Ongoing work with -Boundaries around food and chewing. Care with other dogs/cats. Current location is in a foster home in Portugal can travel to the UK once she has a home to go to, vVaccinated, wormed, flea treated, spayed, microchipped, has a Pet Passport, FREE 4 weeks Pet Insurance. Any known health issues NONE KNOWN.

For Dogs coming from Spain and Portugal: This adoption fee is a contribution towards the costs of rescuing the dog- microchip, passport, vaccines, tests for S European diseases, neutering (if old enough), parasite treatment and transport to the UK.

We can not home dogs from Spain or Portugal to people who work, even part time. They need someone at home all day, they are not used to being alone, so even a couple of hours broken with a dog walker will be too much for them to cope with. They are highly likely to develop separation anxiety which is distressing for them and everyone in their new home.

Adoption Fee : £ 265 – to be paid direct to the Portuguese rescue to cover travel costs via UK bank account
