Shauna – 6 year old female Japanese Akita
Meet Shauna, an older Japanese Akita girlie of 6 years old located in West Yorkshire, looking for a new home due to a change in her owner’s circumstances. A dream on the lead, Shauna is friendly, she loves human contact and was happy to be tickled and stroked – our assessor tells us that she adored having her ears stroked! A gentle girl, Shauna currently lives with two children who she dotes on, she has a particular bond with the 13 year old boy who is heavily involved with looking after her.
Friendly towards everyone that she meets, Shauna lives predominantly outside, and sleeps in an outdoor kennel. Having never lived with another dog, it is difficult to determine if Shauna could live with another, on meeting dogs outside the home she appears curious rather than aggressive.
On lead Shauna appears to not be interested in cats, however she has never encountered one whilst offlead! Shauna takes treats gently, and responds impeccably to commands.
