Sidney is a male Shihtzu aged approximately 7-8 years old. He came into our care from the inspectors as his owner could no longer look after him. He is currently in foster care. Sidney settled in with his foster carer fairly quickly . He has become quite attached to her and very protective and will follow her from room to room. He is well behaved in the home,is fully housetrained and doesn’t beg for food. Sidney likes his long walks at least twice a day. He is only a little dog but is strong on the lead so is best walked on a harness. Sidney does lack confidence and has some handling issues, for example he is wary and anxious of being groomed. We have consulted a behaviourist in relation to this and have been given advice as well as a detailed report which we will pass onto interested adopters.
Sidney is more suited going to an experienced dog owner. He could be rehomed with secondary school age children. He is not to be rehomed with other cats and dogs. He would make a devoted companion in the right home.
