Skye is a stunning one year old female German Shepherd cross Collie. She has the most beautiful face and big ears that only make her that much more unique and special. She came into our care from the inspectors. She was very thin when she first arrived and although she is still underweight, she is looking better and her coat seems to have filled out.
Skye is very loving once she gets to know you. She walks well and calmly on the lead but appears anxious often looking for reassurance from her handler. She can also be wary of strangers and barks at them if they come too close when out and about. She will therefore need some behaviour training with this in her new home. She is highly intelligent, attentive and alert as well as being very food motivated. She should be a pleasure to train with lots of positive reward based training.
Skye is best suited going to a home that has experience of German Shepherd type dogs. She could be rehomed with secondary school age children although we believe an adult only home would suit her best. She lived with dogs in her previous home so could possibly live with another neutered male if introductions are successful. She might need a little help with housetraining.
Skye isn’t coping very well in kennels so it would be wonderful if she could find a forever home quickly. She would make a very loyal and devoted companion.
