Skye – 7 year old female Rottweiler

Skye is a 7 years old Rottweiler, that is spayed, chipped and fully vaccinated. She came to us as a stray. Skye is quite a timid soul and takes her time to come out of herself so she will need patient owners that will allow her to settle in. As she has been here a while now she knows the routine here, and the staff, and she has become affectionate and playful, and even a little cheeky at times! Skye is easily worried so she will require a quieter home with minimal residents; a single person or a couple are ideal for her but a family with older teens would be considered. We tried her in our rehoming section, but she couldn’t cope with all the people walking past, so she had to be moved away from the public’s eye which she much prefers as it is quieter and less busy, but this doesn’t help to get her rehomed!

She is very much a home comforts girl who would given the choice laze around in the garden on a warm summers day. She will not require long walks as she doesn’t like to go far and would love someone with a big garden to potter around in. Skye used to share a kennel and now she doesn’t want to, we do think she’ll improve around other dogs once settled in a home, she likes to keep herself to herself and certainly doesn’t go out looking for trouble, as she will avoid it if she can. She walks well on the lead and enjoys her food, and she has no food issues. She is happy to trade when taking items from her. Skye’s new owners should get her to earn her food rewards as this will be good for her and help maintain her mental stimulation.

Above all Skye will best suit a family who can give the time and space she needs to gain her confidence back and give her the continued socialisation that she requires. If you think you are suitable then please don’t hesitate and get in contact.
