This is our lovely girl Spike. Spike is a Collie who is approximately 4-5 years old. She was probably an ex farmers dog who didn’t make the grade at the start and found herself dumped and unloved. She was very nervous when she first came to us but has improved tremendously and loves a fuss made of her and she is always by your side with the person she now trusts and loves. She doesn’t ask for much in her life and doesn’t need a huge amount of walks as expected of a collie, but she does love her comfy bed. Spike needs a good daily routine with walks and company, and general rules and boundaries to keep her in check but she does as you ask.
She would ideally suit a couple who have had Collie breed experience and who have a quiet calm environment in a semi rural area to give Spike the space she needs. She can be homed with another suitable doggy companion but she does need space and not hemmed into small areas. She can be a little wary of strangers and we would not home her into a family with children as this would stress her too much and is unfair on her. Spike is a very sweet girl when you get to know her and her ways and would love the opportunity to have her own home where she can live a happy and fulfilled life. Spike is spayed, vaccinated, and micro-chipped.
Spike is currently in foster in Newgate Street, Herts. We are looking to re-home her in or around this area or neighbouring counties as a home check will be done, although further afield may be possible for the right home.
If you feel you can offer Spike a wonderful forever home, please get in touch with Maxine who will be able to tell you more about Spike and make arrangements for you to visit her.
