Spot is a cuddly 14 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier boy who is in an Oldies Club foster home in Woodford, Essex. Spot is really good with other dogs and he enjoys meeting them. He is good with dogs that come to his home, or dogs he goes to visit in their own home. Spot needs a home without cats. However, if cats visit your garden, although he will chase them, he’s too old to catch them!
Spot should be fine to live with children, but they would need to be of the sensible, well-trained variety as Spot doesn’t like being fussed over excessively. He was fine with a young child that visited his foster home. Spot’s favourite pastimes are sleeping, sniffing around the garden, chewing on a hide bone.
Spot would be perfect for someone who enjoys slow walks and is home a lot of the time. Spot likes to sleep in the bedroom, but he struggles with stairs, so he needs someone with a ground floor bedroom. He doesn’t want to climb on the settee or bed and squash you in a hug, but he loves a tummy rub and to curl up in his basket next to you. He is ideal if you want a dog that you can take with you to visit friends’ houses, as he just settles down and watches everyone.
Spot is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and has been wormed and flea treated. Spot has a chronic chest condition, so he coughs a lot when taking exercise or going up and down stairs. This is treated with a daily small dose of steroid tablet. His ears need regular cleaning out as they are prone to infection. Spot takes daily painkillers to ease his arthritis, which seem to work quite well. He is on a diet to lose weight.
