Hello, my name is Spud. I’m an eleven year old male Staffordshire Bull Terrier. I arrived at The Mayhew due to my owner’s ill health. I’m a very friendly boy and I get along well with everyone I meet, always greeting people with a woof and a wagging tail. I’m also a happy and well-behaved chap who will make some lucky person or family a fantastic companion. I’m toilet trained, I travel well in the car, I know basic commands and I can be left home alone for a few hours without any problems.
I’m now looking for a forever home with a person or family who are willing to give me at least one hour’s off lead exercise a day. I can live with a first time owner and I can also live with children from twelve years of age and upwards providing they are used to being around dogs. I may be able to live with a dog confident cat, but I’d prefer not to live with other dogs.
If you are interested in adopting me you will need to be fully prepared for the hard work and long-term commitment involved in caring for a dog, which must not be taken lightly.
I hope to see you soon,
