Steffi is a 2-3 year old female Beagle cross Hound. Steffi is a rescue from Cyprus who is living with her family in Congleton. Due to a change in her family’s circumstances, Steffi now needs to find a new home where she will be safe, loved and cherished. Here is a little about her. Steffi is a calm, playful, fun loving dog who enjoys playing with other dogs, or with her ball and humans. She’s very good on the lead. She has been practising off the lead with the use of treats and a secure place where she can’t escape but being a hound she can sometimes be easily distracted.
Steffi loves her food and wants it for herself & can at times show signs of food aggression. Her current owner has been working on this with her and has learnt to go to her crate for meals and treats. She is also having some training in receiving treats around other dogs but it’s early stages yet as she will push other dogs out of the way. She will sit on command and will give her paw when getting a treat. She is great with other dogs as she just wants to play, and okay around cats and the pet rabbit in her current home. She is crate trained and sleeps well at night as long as her crate is covered. She travels well in the car in a crate and if it’s a long journey then it is best she has a dog calm tablet as she can be car sick.
She is okay being left if you go out as long there is another dog and she has something to chew, otherwise you may come home to chewed slippers! She needs some more training off the lead and with food even when adults are eating. She does have a tendency to jump up to get your attention and sometimes will push another dog out of the way. As a result we would not want her to be homed with small children under the age of 5 in case she knocks them over in her excitement. Her current owner says that Steffi is a wonderful dog who loves to be around people and dogs. She adores lots of cuddles, playtime and lots of walks. We hope to find her the best of homes where she will get lots of attention, exercise and there is another dog.
Due to a change in her family’s circumstances they are no longer able to provide Steffi with the active home life and ongoing training she deserves to help her become the amazing family pet she has the potential to be. She has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. The minimum adoption donation is £275.
