Steven – 9 year old male Jack Russell Terrier

Steven is a 9 year old Jack Russell Terrier boy. He is an extremely playful JRT who seems to be happy to fetch his ball 24/7 if he can find someone willing to throw. He is now homeless through no fault of his own and has come from a loving home who’s circumstances have sadly changed. He is quite obedient and knows several commands and tricks and we are told he is fully house trained. There have been no accidents yet.
He does seem to have problems with other dogs (particularly large ones) and seems particularly adverse to his fosterer’s German Shepherd. The owner stated that he did get attacked by a couple of Boxers when younger and this may have some bearing. That said he has been out on walks with two boxers without too many dramas. There has just been the odd growl if they got too close and it does seem to have improved a little throughout the day. He was good on the lead with little pulling and was happy on a busy road and the owner said he was good off the lead.

He will make a great pet for someone willing to give him lots of exercise and plenty of stimulating play. We recommend that he is the only dog, although with a confident strong owner we believe that he could get over his problem with other dogs.

Steven is an attractive-looking, bright and spritely, very good-natured little chap. As you can see, he is a rough-haired Jack Russell, a bit thin at the moment, he is enthusiastic and really enjoys coming out for a walk. He wolfs down treats! He is responsive to direction on the lead and does not bark or appears to take any interest in the livestock he sees on his walk. we think he would make a happy, responsive little companion and seems to like people a lot.
