Meet Storm, he is a 6 year old castrated male Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross that was brought back to the to the Bath Cats & Dogs Home in January 2006, after only one month as he was over protective of his owner – originally arriving here in September 2005, after living with one family since a pup, as he became scared when two children were arguing and he became over-protective.
Storm is a very loving and loyal lad but can be nervous before he gets to know you. He is seeking a new owner who has plenty of time to spend with him to understand his issues and help build up his trust. Underneath that initially nervous exterior is an affectionate lad desperate for a new loving home environment.
He becomes protective once in a home environment as he is very unsure of himself and needs careful socialization to regain full confidence. However, all this behaviour only comes to light when in a new home, as in kennels he is generally very well behaved.
He loves his cuddles and will sit very nicely for treats that just happen to come his way! He loves going out for walks and is being muzzle trained as he can be protective when out on the lead but is obedient and wlaks well to heal. He has been crate trained and any new owner will need to continue this good work.
He is good in the company of some other canines is not good with cats and is looking for a new home where any children are aged 14+ and sensible. In the right hands and with the correct training he will be a fantastic dog. Can you give our loyal lad a new home where he can feel secure?
