Summer – 1 year old female Cross-Breed

Summer came in to rescue when her leg was amputated after an RTA. She is a 1 year old crossbreed and is being fostered in Cardiff. Summer is lovely with people. She enjoys being played with and getting belly tickets. She will happily be groomed and have her eyes, ears and teeth cleaned. She is more than happy to be around children of all ages and is calm and friendly with them all.

Summer is very sociable with dogs, large and small. She has visited her fosterer’s family farm and interacted very well with all of the animals. She doesn’t live with cats but has shown no interest in them outside of the home. Summer has no problems in the home and can be left for short periods of time – roughly two hours. She will go upstairs and make herself comfortable on the human bed if she gets half the chance – stairgates are no barrier as she can jump them!

Summer is lead trained and can walk to heel. She will pull initially but does calm down once corrected. Her recall off-lead is a bit hit and miss so further training is required in his area. She does travel well in the car too with no signs of stress or anxiety. Summer would love to be amongst a family with lots of playtime or an active person who can take her for walks and play football with her. She is good with children of all ages and other animals. So fitting in with animals in situ would not cause Summer problems. She loves to play in the garden on her own so a secure garden would be a massive bonus.

Summer is up to date with her vaccinations, flea and worming treatment, is spayed and microchipped. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet Summer in her foster home in Cardiff. If you are interested in adopting Summer please read about our rehoming process and complete a Pre-Adoption form ( link here ) and one of our adoption coordinators will contact you for a chat.
