Susie and Max – 8 1/2 and 7 1/2 year old female and male Greyhound and Collie Cross
Susie 8 ½ year Greyhound and Max is a 7 1/2 year Collie cross currently in kennels on the Staffordshire/Cheshire border. They have come into RSPCA care with 2 cats who have since been rehomed. The owner abandoned them all in a property. Both have been health checked, microchipped, wormed, flead and fully vaccinated. Susie is already spayed and we’ve had Max castrated, he has also had several teeth removed.
Unfortunately due to getting no interest in this lovely pair and Susie not faring well in a kennel environment we have no choice but to rehome Max and Susie seperately.
The note that the owner left with the dogs said Susie has a sensitive jaw. That was because her teeth were in a terrible state, worse case we’ve seen in a long time, poor girl had all teeth removed bar 3 and a lot of them just fell out and her claws were very overgrown.
Susie is a really sweet, gentle friendly girl. She is small for a Greyhound. She is fine with cats and dogs. As far as we know she’s not lived with children but we have no concerns.
Like Susie, Max seems fine with cats and is ok with most dogs but not all. Max may have been beaten with a lead when young as a note was left to say that he is growly towards the lead so has never worn one-he’s always been scared of them and he is petrified of chains too. As the videos show he walks really well on the lead now; we’ve worked out how he likes us to put it on and off we go!
(Susie)
Max is very friendly and likes fusses and treats. Max will need a child free home. He likes to bark when people come and go but he is really sweet and a nice friendly boy.
(Max)
We really want to keep Max and Susie together because they stress when apart. We’d prefer it if you’ve had 2 dogs previously or general experience owning rescue dogs. Please consider this gorgeous pair as your new pets, they deserve to find a loving home and never be deserted again.
