Sara - 4 year old female German Shepherd Dog

Sara is a beautiful longcoat German Shepherd female aged 4 years old. She is spayed and vaccinated. Sara came in to rescue in a very sorry state, she was covered in matts but luckily these were able to be cut out - it was thought she may need to be completely shaved to make her more comfortable. She is a very pretty girl who is so loving and playful, she loves playing ball with children.

Sara cannot be homed with cats, but she can be homed with other dogs so long as she is fed seperately - she is food posessive. She will suit many homes, being happy to play until shes had enough or just to be a loving companion who will give the best of company. She loves going for walks and having a fuss.

Before applying to adopt Sara, please ensure you are prepared for the amount of grooming she will require - we don’t want to see this gorgeous girl matted again!

Sheba - 4 year old female German Shepherd Dog

Hello my name is Sheba and I was signed over to the dog wardens as my old owner didn’t have time to care for me properly and I was always out scaring the neighbours! I am a 4 year old German Shepherd female and really need to find a home desperately. I have lived in a very large family so I would like a busy household where somebody is at home as I don’t think I could cope very well on my own. There were lots of children of all ages in my old home so I am quite tolerant although I shouldn’t have to put up with being pulled around.

The dog wardens will insist that my new owner gets me spayed so that there is no danger of me having babies and I must have some basic training as I can be a bit barky at people I don’t know until I’ve had a sniff of them. I would probably live with another dog if necessary.

I would like an owner who has preferably had German Shepherds before and knows about our quirky ways, will give me the exercise I desperately need to regain my figure and give me an interest in life. Please ring the dog wardens if you think you fit the bill.

Becky and Jess - 1 year old female Pointer Crosses

Becky and Jess are Pointer cross sisters aged approximately 1 year old who were rescued from death row in Ireland (they were next inline). They are affectionate and lively, they compliment each other very well with one being lively and the other more relaxed. These two do everything together and would like a home as a pair. They get on well with other dogs and would enjoy to share their new home with others. They would prefer a home without cats and are great with children, they have socialised with children from 6 years upwards.

Becky is the more spotty one and has the one black leg at the front like she has dipped it in a bucket! Can you offer these lovely girls a loving new forever home together?

Crystal - 5 year old female Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross

Crystal (ref no 199) is a 5 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross who arrived at the shelter in May following a domestic split. Poor Crystal is delightful and we’re so sad that she keeps coming back to us. She forms close attachments and never forgets someone she trusts, so will make a loving companion. She is wary of rough or quick handling so needs love and kindness.

StubArk_Crystal

Not used to children and doesn’t like being pulled about. Children should be gentle and be involved in training her. She would be best suited as the only pet in the home. She is okay with other dogs when out on walks. She is not good with other cats. Can be left in a crate for two hours.

Sasha - 8 year old female Greyhound

Sasha (ref no 170) is an 8 year old female Greyhound who arrived at the shelter in April. Sasha is a lovely placid dog with people. She is very loving and excellent to handle and groom. She can be a bit unsettled and whingy in new situations but would suit a calm home with lots of attention. Has strong chase drive.

StubArk_Sasha

She can be rehomed with calm children who will respect her. She gets on well with other Greyhounds but can be intolerant of other breeds and small dogs. She’s also not very good with cats. Sighthound experience recommended as Sasha is quite a chaser.

Rooney - 2 year old male Dalmatian Cross Labrador

Rooney (ref no 148) is a 2 year old Dalmatian cross Labrador male who arrived at the shelter in April as his previous owner wasn’t coping. Rooney is DEAF. He is extremely energetic and bouncy and easily frustrated so will be a project for someone who has plenty of time. Rooney has a bad mouthing habit which will need correcting. He works well for food and hand signals but gets very excitable over toys. Strong chase instinct.

Rooney is powerful and mouths hard. Children need to be extremely robust and not over excite him. He is okay with most dogs but would be best suited in a cat free home. Due to Rooney’s deafness and boisterous nature, we recommend having had a large bouncy or deaf dog before.
