Taylor – 2 year old male Greyhound

Taylor is a 2 year old Greyhound, and sadly he had a very miserable existence living in a shed with two of his littermates, before coming into Gap’s care in October last year. Fortunately Taylor is now flourishing and has become a very happy, cheeky and loving young lad with a heart of gold and bags of personality.

Taylor is currently in foster care with a lurcher bitch, two male lurchers and a small male terrier, and he gets on very well with all of them. Taylor loves to play with the female lurcher in particular, and he is also happy to amuse himself with his toys. He is definitely not a typical quiet, laid back greyhound who likes to sleep all day! Although Taylor has made good progress in his foster home, he is still learning what normal life is like and can therefore understandably be nervous in new situations or when meeting new people. He gains confidence from the other dogs in these situations and he would definitely not be happy living as an only dog.

Taylor is spotlessly clean in the house and is good to be left during the day for a few hours in his crate. Taylor is not destructive as such in the house, but he will take the opportunity to investigate bags, cupboards and bins if he gets the chance, so it is important to keep any valuables out of reach! Taylor will jump stairgates too and will need 6ft fencing in the garden. Out and about, Taylor walks very nicely in quieter or familiar areas, however he can still be nervous and jumpy in new or busy places. For this reason he wears a Ruffwear harness to keep him safe. Taylor loves meeting new dogs and he likes all breeds and sizes, he completely ignores running dogs, livestock and even small furries!! Taylor is cat workable.

Initially Taylor was stressed when travelling the car, however after lots of practice he is now calm and lays down, although he has to be lifted in. Taylor loves sensible older children but is nervous of younger children running, playing or shouting. He is also worried by other dogs barking and will head for his crate when our postman arrives and the other dogs bark. Taylor’s cheeky, loving personality will make him a fantastic addition to a home looking to add a young dog to their pack.

Taylor is vaccinated, kennel cought vaccinated, treated for parasites, microchipped and castrated.

Taylor is currently in a foster home in Staffordshire.
