Tess – 2-4 year old female Labrador cross Staffordshire Bull Terrier

Tess is a 2-4 year old female Labrador cross Staffordshire Bull Terrier who is currently in foster care in Poynton, Cheshire.
When we have space we like to help dogs that are due to be put to sleep in the pounds when their 7 days is up. With the help of another organisation we save them from the fatal injection in order to find them new loving homes, Tess was one of those dogs. We did find her a family home with two older children nearly a year ago but due to one of the owners having Sciatica they don’t feel they can give Tess what she needs.

She is being rehomed from her current owners. Tess is microchipped, neutered and fully vaccinated, she is a healthy dog.
To describe Tess she is very friendly, affectionate, loving and bouncy. She’s great with children. She is a people’s dog that wants to please. She is playful so will need lots of walks, exercise and stimulation as she is a very alert strong willed dog when out and about.

She is really good at dropping her toys for you, if she doesn’t she lets you hold it whilst she has it and she’ll drop it on command. She will sit, give paw, and take treats gently. She is not toy or food possessive. She travels well in the car.
She needs a secure garden as she has been known to escape in the past.

When she was first with us in the kennels she always came back when called, however she is easily distracted by what’s going on around. She is good with other dogs and is very obedient on walks provided there is nothing else around. Lively dogs tend to get her into ‘hypermode’ and once she is there its quite tricky to get her focused again! She would benefit from dog training. She really does need to be seen in a home environment for anyone to appreciate her wonderful nature.

She either needs to be the only pet or be with someone knowledgeable if rehomed with another dog. Tess really does deserve to find her forever home with experienced, kind and caring people who will give her the stability and security she needs. Tess is a great dog, she is worthy of so much more!
