Theo – 7 year old male Lurcher

Theo is a 7 year old male Lurcher, is one of our longer stayers and is a firm favourite at our kennels. He has been with us for a long time having previously faced euthanasia as dog aggressive in the stray pound. Theo is not particularly dog aggressive he is just not *dog keen* as we like to put it, he is very much his own man. Where other dogs are concerned he would rather not engage and would much prefer for them to leave him be. Out and about on walks he walks beautifully on the lead and does not show any signs of reaction to other dogs passing by. Theo loves his people and is such a character! He loves to play in the kennels paddock with toys and he is a totally different dog when given the chance to shine. Theo is another boy being overlooked due to middle age and the fact that he is not a completely straight forward dog. Not many rescue dogs are, the difference is we are totally honest as to the best of our abilities we do not want to set our dogs or our adopters up for a fail.

Theo is much more a human dog than a dog sort of dog. He would be best suited to a home as an only dog with someone around all or most of the time in the main. He isn’t overly keen on loud noises and lots going on so believe he would be better suited to a quieter child free home. Theo is not cat friendly. Theo walks beautifully on his lead and travels well and tries his best to keep his kennel environment clean making sure he toilets every chance he gets.

It’s so sad that dogs like Theo seem to get over looked and not given a chance. This boy has so much love to give and a home must be out there looking for a steadier only dog who would love to be a very big part of someones life?

Theo is vaccinated, kc vaccinated, de flead, de wormed, microchipped and neutered and is currently with us in kennels in Stoke on Trent. As with all of our dogs Theo can be homed nationwide subject to a successful homevisit being carried out.

Greyhound Gap
Greyhound Gap is a small independent charity set up to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome greyhounds and lurchers who find themselves in a ‘put to sleep’ situation in UK pounds. Funded almost entirely by donations, we rehome around 150 dogs each year. We can have around 40-50 dogs at any one time in our kennels based in Kidsgrove, Stoke on Trent and a further 30-40 in foster homes. Greyhound Gap operates on a national basis so our dogs can be homed throughout the UK subject to a suitable home visit being carried out. If you are interested in adopting a dog from Greyhound Gap, we would ask that in the first instance you could take a few moments to complete our pre-adoption questionnaire if you have not already done so:
