Tia and Misty

Tia and Misty are two female (sisters) Husky cross German Shepherds aged 7 years old who were taken under our care by inspectors having been abandoned by their owner and left out of doors in an unsuitable urine and faeces covered open area.

We understand that when with their original owner both lived a more normal life and were around children without any problems. Nevertheless, as always with larger dogs, we feel any new home should have teenaged children at least. Both were house trained but after three months outside, they will probably need a ‘refresher course’ on the subject! Tia’s sister,

Misty, will chase anything that is furry and moves, so no cats in the new home then. Where she stands with other dogs, we will have to assess further along with other traits. Hopefully, we can have her in foster accommodation soon and build a fuller report. Certainly,of the two animals, Tia is slighty more German Shepherd than Misty, but both are really beautiful and nuzzle in to any human in their proximity seeking a pat and kind word.

Because of their period outside and lack of contact through walks, etc., any new owner is going to have some patience and understanding. Initially, we thought Tia did not get on with Misty and vice versa - we seem to be wrong. When separated for walks it is clear they miss each other. So ideally we think that Tia should be rehomed with her sister. A big order but given an experienced owner and lots of space….
