Tiger Lily is a sweet 15 year old Border Terrier girl who is in an Oldies Club foster home in Kings Lynn, Norfolk, waiting for someone to offer her a lovely new home. Tiger Lily loves to have company but she can be left for up to two hours when you need to pop out. Any more than that and she would become anxious. She is housetrained and happily goes outside to toilet, but she may slip up if not out in time.
Tiger Lily is calm and friendly around other dogs. Her foster carer recommends a meeting in a neutral environment first and then keeping beds and food bowls in separate areas. There are no cats in Tiger Lily’s foster home, but she is OK with cats when she is on walks. Tiger Lily should be fine to live with kind children aged 5 years and above.
Tiger Lily’s favourite pastimes are going in the garden, sleeping and walks. She would love a home where someone is there most of the day. She is OK home alone for about two hours but she then gets stressed.
Tiger Lily is microchipped, wormed and flea treated. We don’t know for sure whether she is neutered but it’s thought that she is. She has a heart murmur and an enlarged liver, but the vet is not at all concerned about this and it is not a problem as Tiger Lily is active and a healthy eater.
She is having the following medication: Vetmedin – half a 5mg tablet once daily, Fortekor – half a 5mg tablet once daily, and Frusemide – one 20 mg tablet once daily. These are ongoing treatments. She has a very small sore on her left leg, for which she is having Isaderm Gel 15mg applied twice a day, and it is healing well.
*Update September 2017*
She is moving to a new foster home in Wallingford, Oxfordshire. Also although she is calm and friendly with dogs outside the home we have found she does not wish to share her home with another dog. A relative visited with their dog and she objected to their presence in her home quite vocally.
