Tilly – 9 year old female Spaniel Cross

Tilly is a smaller sized Spaniel Crossbreed aged 9 years old, her micro-chip details say she is crossed with a Jack Russell. She came into our care via the PDSA following a minor road traffic accident but owner has not claimed her back despite being contacted via the micro-chip details, so unfortunately we have no background history. Can live as an only pet as not keen on other dogs but will happily walk with them. No cats please. Children 8 years plus if a family applies.

Tilly loves to be out of her kennel and walks wonderfully well on lead and harness, she is easy to manage and loves to sniff and explore, she will wait at the kerb side if you ask her to. She is an affectionate little lady and will do anything for a tasty treat! She absolutely loves her grub. She looks at you with those sad eyes willing you to get something edible from your pocket!

Tilly is not coping well in kennels and keeps biting her tail, to the point where it is getting very sore and has to be bandaged to allow it to heal. She now has to wear a buster collar to prevent her from biting it. What this girl really needs is a good and loving home to eliminate her anxiety and stress levels. She may be a little older and you really wouldn’t think she was 9 years old, as she has lots of years ahead of her. She is a quiet, little, sad soul at the moment but you can see her true personality emerge when she is away from the kennel environment.

Tilly will almost certainly wait longer than the cuter, smaller, fluffier and younger dogs but this is an opportunity to turn this gal’s life around, she is waiting to flourish and be a loyal companion in the right home. If you come and meet her, you wouldn’t say no as she really is a lovely, sad eyed, with a touch of grey on the muzzle, little loving lady, who is also known as ‘Tremendous Tilly’.

RSPCA Essex South West
The RSPCA Essex South West Branch is, like all RSPCA branches, an independent charitable trust. As such, it has to be financially self-supporting – in other words it has to raise the funds it needs to support its animal welfare activities. The Branch covers an area ranging from Dagenham & Barking in the South to Epping & Nazeing in the North, Waltham Abbey to the West and Abridge to the East. Although we do rehome our dogs to all other areas. The Branch is run and staffed entirely by volunteers. The main activity of the Branch is in rescuing and finding new homes for companion animals that for a variety of reasons are either homeless or cannot stay with their present owner. We work in partnership with Goddard's Chingford Kennels, who board and care for our rescue dogs. All dogs who are rehomed from us will have their initial course of vaccinations, worm and flea treatments, will be neutered, microchipped and come with 6 weeks free pet insurance in conjunction with the RSPCA and More Than insurance company. In the last eight years (to December 2012) the RSPCA ESSEX SOUTH WEST Branch has re-homed approximately 2200 cats and 1700 dogs. 220 dogs were re-homed in 2013.
