Tilly is a pretty, spayed, nearly four year old girl of mixed breed possibly German Shepherd cross Lurcher. She is tall (23 inches at the shoulder) but slender ( 25 kgs). Tilly spent her first year in a shelter in Greece. She was found as a singleton orphaned pup, about the worst start in life as she had no parents or siblings to teach her how to behave. Tilly has lived for 3 years in England in several homes. When she came over, Tilly was a bundle of insecurity and the many people who have taken an interest in Tilly have worked wonders. However, no one has so far been willing to commit to a forever home and to work with or manage her remaining few issues, which are guarding her home and reacting to some dogs and some people when out.
Once she knows you and her pack, Tilly is great company, very affectionate, loves cuddles & fuss, walks nicely on the lead either on her own or with other dogs. She has good recall and travels well in the car. She is house trained and crate trained. She has regular visits from older children who are dog savvy and enjoys their company. She has spent time around horses and cats. She is experienced in a busy environment such as county shows and is also a seasoned camper! She has the potential to learn dogs sports, obedience and anything else that will keep her busy as she is highly intelligent and sensitive. She needs kind leadership and firm but loving boundaries.
A quiet, experienced home is sought, either with an easy going, preferably large and playful male dog or with no other dogs, who is willing to stick with Tilly for the long term and work with her to overcome her remaining fears. Please contact Give a Dog a Home UK to discuss if you think you can help Tilly; its not fair to keep moving her around and she will make a faithful companion to the right person, for the rest of her life. Tilly is currently being fostered in West Sussex and is available for visiting.
