Tink – 2 year old female Maltese Cross

Tink is a 2 year old female Maltese Cross. She is a really tiny little lady but please do not be fooled by her stature or delicate looks! Tink is a full on hound dog who will play all day and exhaust the most tireless dogs. She is not and never will be a lapdog. Please don’t apply for her if this is what you want. She is active and all dog, she only rests when she has to and would really suit an active home with older teenage children.

Tink may even be suitable for agility or some sort of activity to exercise her mentally as well as physically. Tink can be too much for some dogs as she can be relentless in her quest for fun. She could be re homed as an only dog provided she has plenty of stimulation and exercise. She is not used to living in a home so accidents should be expected initially. Her foster is working on her house training with her and she is improving. Likewise with her lead training, a work in progress that will continue into her new home.

Tink would be best placed with more experienced dog owners as she is quite a strong character. She can sometimes be barky with strange dogs whilst on lead especially if larger than she is, which we have to say is not difficult given how tiny she is. She is a fun and energetic little girl who is very endearing. Faith is currently on foster in Basingstoke Hampshire.

*Update February 2018*

Tink has been with us for some time with no applications at all. We really cannot understand why, she is a great little girl who would do well in an active home with larger breed dogs. She loves her husky friends and is happy to cuddle up and bed share with them. She would be great with older teenagers able to interact with her and have a game. She has made good progress since being in foster and is clean in the house. It has taken a long while and some dedication on her fosters part to get her to this stage.

We think she may have been treated harshly for toileting or perhaps not had access to an outside area. With patience and kindness she is doing really well. Tink is going to be best re homed with large breed dogs who make her feel secure and part of the pack. She gains confidence from her buddies and is an angel when she feels secure. Without the guidance and security of her larger buddies Tink can become fear reactive to other dogs, she is a complex little lady but in the right home she is wonderful and gives so much.

Tink so deserves the right home for her where she can blossom, if you have resident large breed dogs and an active home that understands terrier traits we would love to hear from you. This little lady has been waiting far to long and really does need her forever home. She is active and energetic, good with other dogs and older children and really is a smashing all round good dog. Tink is currently on foster in Basingstoke Hampshire.
