Toby is a 4 year old male Pomeranian cross with a Chihuahua. Dear, sweet Toby has been in his home since May but very sadly has been returned. I think this poor little guy has been somewhat misunderstood as he is quite shy and a little anxious. It sounds like he has found himself in situations that he has found stressful and has been feeling really quite stressed in his home for a fair bit of time. We found him an absolute delight when he was with us before he was rehomed, and we have found him to be so again since he has been returned. He greeted those of us he knows with gusto and does not seem the least bit worried by being back in kennels. He clearly feels quite comfortable here. He wasn’t going for walks while in his home (he loved his walks when he was here) as we are told he wasn’t keen to go. We had him straight out for a walk with his new terrier kennel buddy and he seemed quite happy to go.
We’re told that Toby is spotlessly clean in the home (even asking to go out in the night if he’s caught short) and he also is happy being left for short periods. He was an only dog so could be an only dog again. He is not happy with lots going on or a busy household. Toby didn’t like the man in his home and would hide from him. Due to Toby’s anxiety we wouldn’t home him with children. We also will be looking for a quiet home where he won’t be pushed out of his comfort zone. I’m sure in the right home Toby will be ace as he was just a joy at the kennels and everyone loved him. Clearly something was causing him stress in his home.
Now he is out of that environment he should blossom back into the great, little guy that he always was. Vaccinated, wormed, neutered, micro chipped and vet checked.
