Trixie – 5 year old female Cross-Breed

Trixie is gentle and loving. She loves to be on a lap and have lots of gentle fuss. She tends to jump up so would not be rehomed with younger children. She is fine in the vets. Trixie is very good with other dogs and shares her foster home with several others. She would benefit from being an only dog as she needs ongoing training on the lead and with her dog socialisation skills, though she can happily cope with being with others. She wants to play with them but isn’t 100% confident with this and needs more socialisation with kind, well socialised dogs who she can learn from.

It is not recommended that Trixie lives with cats as she’s very excitable around them. Trixie has no problems in the home, she is fine to be left although she has the resident dogs for company. She needs some reassurance on settling and likes lots of gentle fuss and smoothing. She is not destructive at all. Trixie was used to eating human food in her previous home, she has now been trained when to get treats instead of living off them so her new home will have to be consistent with this.

Trixie loves going for a walk and gets very busy when having her harness put on but lead training is a work in progress. Trixie doesn’t attempt to escape from the garden and travels well in the car. Trixie is a lovely affectionate girl who will take a while to settle following the changes that have taken place in her life recently. She will need a dedicated and patient owner who has the patience to work with her and give her confidence. She will need ongoing lead training and socialisation along with a strict dog food only diet although she will try and persuade you to give her a roast dinner!

Trixie is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet Trixie in her foster home in RCT, South Wales.
