Troy – 4 year old male Collie Cross

Terrific Troy is an approximately 4 year old medium sized Collie cross and looking at his mouth we feel there may be a bit of Staffordshire Bull Terrier in his genes too. He is okay with other dogs. Definitely no cats please. He can be re-homed with older children 8 years plus. He came to us via RSPCA Inspectors as his previous owners circumstances had changed and he was unable to care for him, he was much loved and in good condition when he arrived, albeit a little overweight.

Troy will make a fab companion in the right home; he’s got a nice temperament, he’s a happy soul with the biggest smile you’ve ever seen, full of fun and always to be seen with a football in his mouth! He is an affectionate guy, after he’s had his playtime he will sit with you for a massage, belly rub and a good cuddle. He loves everyone, even the vet! Troy’s favourite thing in all the world is balls, balls and more balls, he would play all day if you let him. He will even forgo a tasty treat for his football. He would love a family or owner to have a kick around in the back garden and over the park. He is easily managed on lead and harness; he will pull initially but soon gets over this excitement and calms down.

Troy will suit a variety of different home circumstances, being an unusual looking cross breed he will not be everyone’s cup of tea but I hate to think of him spending months in kennels, as he is not small, cute and fluffy. Come and meet him, I guarantee he will make you laugh and put a big smile on your face, he would cheer anyone up! Troy is a cracker, a one off, unique, you won’t meet a dog like him very often, he really is terrific!

RSPCA Essex South West
The RSPCA Essex South West Branch is, like all RSPCA branches, an independent charitable trust. As such, it has to be financially self-supporting – in other words it has to raise the funds it needs to support its animal welfare activities. The Branch covers an area ranging from Dagenham & Barking in the South to Epping & Nazeing in the North, Waltham Abbey to the West and Abridge to the East. Although we do rehome our dogs to all other areas. The Branch is run and staffed entirely by volunteers. The main activity of the Branch is in rescuing and finding new homes for companion animals that for a variety of reasons are either homeless or cannot stay with their present owner. We work in partnership with Goddard's Chingford Kennels, who board and care for our rescue dogs. All dogs who are rehomed from us will have their initial course of vaccinations, worm and flea treatments, will be neutered, microchipped and come with 6 weeks free pet insurance in conjunction with the RSPCA and More Than insurance company. In the last eight years (to December 2012) the RSPCA ESSEX SOUTH WEST Branch has re-homed approximately 2200 cats and 1700 dogs. 220 dogs were re-homed in 2013.
